Our friend Ellen Cassidy has just recently been diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer at the young age of 48. Not feeling well she went to the doctors and within a week they put her in for surgery where they removed a 30 pound tumor. Upon biopsy it was determined that she had colon cancer and it had spread into her ovaries and lymph nodes. They were not able to get all of the cancer removed and have now put her on chemotherapy every other week for a year. Ellen who is always willing to extend a helping hand is one who hesitates asking for help which is one of the many reasons why we decided to have this benefit for her. We know her life is going to see some major changes while she undergoes her treatments. Ellen now finds herself unable to work during this time per doctors orders. Being a single homeowner with two beautiful dogs, Ellen will experience a huge financial burden in addition to many other obstacles along the way. With your help, we are hoping to allow Ellen to keep in good spirits, concentrate on her treatments and well being rather than worry about how she will get by during this already difficult time.
